How do I Remove the Propane Tank From a Gas Grill?
- 1). Turn the shut-off valve knob clockwise to close the gas supply to the gas grill regulator and fuel line. The shut-off valve is the knob on top of the propane tank.
- 2). Twist the control knob on your gas grill to "On" as if you were lighting the grill. This eliminates any propane that may still be in the line. Turn the control knob to "Off" when you do not hear anything from the grill. The grill makes a low hissing sound as gas is flowing through the line and the burner.
- 3). Rotate the nut securing the gas grill regulator to the propane tank counterclockwise with an adjustable wrench, if your grill uses a regulator. If you do not have a regulator, remove the nut securing the fuel line to the propane tank with the adjustable wrench.
- 4). Lift the tank off the retaining hook on the gas grill and remove the tank completely from the grill.
