• What better way to look back on years of memories than through pictures and special mementos of a couple's time together? If you keep old ticket stubs or receipts from special nights out, team them with a photo of the two of you at the dinner table and write a caption about that memory. Make your scrapbook using a pre-made photo album, or by binding it using ribbon. Take the pages to a professional binder. If you want a more professional-looking option, many online photo printers offer "handmade" scrapbooks and photo albums that allow customers to upload pictures, add captions and choose borders, backgrounds and even design their own custom cover.
  
  

Cards and Stationery

• For a simple arts and crafts anniversary gift, create stationery or a homemade card for your honey. Choose a rustic paper in her favorite color for a real handmade feel, and use stamps or stickers to add character. Finally, use a metallic marker to write your heartfelt message. For a one-of-a-kind stationery set, use plain card paper (3--by-5-inches or 4--by-6-inches), and source postcards from all the places you went on vacation (or places you know she loves), and glue them to one side of the card paper. On the other side, print or stamp her name, address, or special message and add a set of coordinated envelopes for sending in the mail. Keepsake Handprints

• If you have an anniversary coming up with your spouse, and you have young children, a good reminder of how your relationship has grown is a little something from your children together. Handprints or footprints from your little ones will be cherished by your spouse and your children as they grow up. Use a dough recipe to make them at home. Using salt, flour, water and a touch of food coloring, roll the dough out and press the child's hand or foot to make an imprint and poke a small hole in the top using a pencil; you will thread the ribbon through the hole to hang the print. Cut the print into a circle, place it on a cookie sheet and bake the dough in the over at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 to 3 hours until it's hard. When the print cools, write a special note on the back using a magic marker and have the kids sign their names.

• Home décor makes a useful and touching gift for all occasions. If you're a keen knitter, quilter or just very handy with a sewing machine, make a blanket or throw for your home using your loved one's favorite colors or materials. If the gift is for a grown child's anniversary, quilt with patches from old baby clothes. If you aren't gifted in the sewing department, many companies specialize in printing or monogramming blankets, towels and throw pillows with a name, date or special picture. Even though it's not entirely homemade, it's still a one-of-a-kind gift that will be treasured for years.
