• The Honda Prelude was produced from 1992 to 1996. During these production years there were three models of the Honda Prelude; the Prelude S, Prelude SI-100 and Prelude VTEC. While there was similarity between the models in body design and overall appearance, there were definite differences under the hood. Engine

• The Honda Prelude SI-100 has an in-line, four-cylinder engine. The head and engine block of this engine are made of aluminum, which allows both parts to expand at the same rate as the engine warms up from running. The compression ratio of the Honda Prelude SI-100 engine is 9.8:1 and produces up to 6,500 rpm at the engines redline. The valve gears are belt driven with dual overhead cams. Each cylinder in the engine has four valves. Automatic and manual transmissions are both available in the Honda Prelude SI-100 model.
  
  

Suspension

• The suspension on the Honda Prelude SI-100 has independent control arms that are configured in double wishbone design on the front and rear axles. A wishbone design means that the arms of the suspension are not the same length. The control arms help to absorb the side-to-side roll of the car while making corners. The coil springs that are also present at both the front and rear axles help to control the up and down movement of the car as it passes over bumps.

• The wheelbase of the Honda Prelude SI-100 is relatively short measuring only 100.4 inches from the front axle to the rear axle. Maneuvering around corners at high speeds in this car could cause it to roll because of this short wheel base.
