1984 Toyota Pickup Specs
- Toyota began manufacturing automobiles and trucks in 1935. The first Toyota vehicle to hit the overseas market was the G1 truck in 1936. Throughout the years, Toyota has manufactured a number of pickup trucks through the years from the G1 and GA of the '30s to the Tacoma and Tundra. In 1984, Toyota dropped the name "Hilux" from its previous-generation pickups, 1979 through 1983, and simply called it the 1984 Toyota Pickup.
- The 1984 Toyota Pickup came in either short bed or long bed. The short-bed pickup had a 103-inch wheelbase, and the long-bed pickup had a 112-inch wheelbase. The short-bed pickup measured 174.6 inches long, and the long-bed pickup measured 186.2 inches. The short-bed pickup measured 60.8 inches high, and the long-bed was slightly shorter at 60.4 inches. Both versions measured 63.8 inches wide. The vehicles has two doors and offered a maximum seating capacity of three.
- A 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine powered the 1984 Toyota Pickup. The engine also had an output power of 96 horsepower at 4,800 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 129 foot-lbs. of torque at 2,800 rpm. It had a bore of 92 mm and a stroke of 89 mm, and the engine and fuel injection system on the 1984 Toyota Pickup had a compression ratio of 9.0:1.The vehicle also came standard with a five-speed manual transmission.
- While the 1984 Toyota Pickup didn't have an inordinate amount of power, it was a fuel-efficient vehicle. It obtained 31 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, for a combined 35 mpg.
