Understanding and the acceptance of new customs from any group who share their cultural gifts they bring with them, is what has made the United States the melding place for people from all around the world.
These traditions and cultural influences are never ending.
Making the biggest impact on the nation has been the immigrants language, religious practices, dress, food, music and life style.
The larger the size of the new group immigrating to the United States, the greater the impact they make on the entire country.
Celebrating the right-of-passage of either a boy or girl can be traced back to the history of most cultures.
From the practices of the Native American Indians, to the Hispanic traditions dating back to the ancient Aztec culture.
When a girl at the age of fifteen was introduced to her community as a young woman at a religious mass and a community celebration.
Before she celebrated her right-of-passage as a Quinceanera she spent time with her elders being trained for her new role in life.
She had few choices at that time in Hispanic history.
She could choose to get married and accept all the responsibility that went with that role or join the church.
This right-of-passage celebration was very simple since most people lived and worked the farmland.

So, Hollywood and MTV you need to show better examples of getting back to the roots of the importance and beauty of the Latinas right of passage Quince celebration that includes the Real American Dream.
Where in the United States having a good education gives an individual the freedom to have a good quality of life.
It is not having a Limo that costs $150 per hour.
Nor wearing a gown that costs more than most working woman spend on their wardrobes in a year.
