How to Make Caramel Corn in a Stop Top Popcorn Popper
- 1). Pour the popcorn kernels and canola oil in the stove top popper and heat over medium heat, cranking the handle for three to four minutes or until the popcorn stops popping. Remove the popper from the heat and set it aside.
- 2). Heat the brown sugar, corn syrup and butter in a microwave-safe bowl on high power for five to seven minutes or until the mixture boils. Stop the microwave every two minutes to stir the mixture.
- 3). Stir the baking soda into the caramel mixture. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
- 4). Drizzle the caramel syrup over the popcorn in the popper and crank the handle to stir the popcorn and distribute the syrup over the popped corn.
- 5). Transfer the caramel popcorn to the wax paper-lined baking sheet and cool to room temperature.
- 6). Break up any clumps and serve.
