How to Troubleshoot a Eureka Superlite
- 1). Turn off and unplug your Eureka Superlite vacuum cleaner.
- 2). Check the dust cup, as suction problems occur when it has filled or the filter has clogged. Empty it and/or clean the filter as needed. Return the cup to its cavity, plug in and turn on the vacuum, and check the suction.
- 3). Clean the air intake hole in the bottom of the dust cup cavity and the dirt channel near the nozzle brush if the vacuum suction remains reduced. Turn off and unplug your vacuum, remove the dust cup and filter, check the hole and then remove clogs as needed with your fingers or long tweezers. Turn over the vacuum cleaner, open the dirt channel door near the brush and clean out the channel as needed.
- 4). Return the dust cup and filter to the vacuum when finished. Plug in and power on the vacuum. Check the suction again.
- 1). Check that you have the power switch completely pushed in the "On" direction. If your Superlite has a suction-only "Floor" setting or suction and brush "Carpet" setting, make certain that you don't have the switch placed between the settings.
- 2). Confirm that you've plugged the vacuum into the electrical socket completely or that you didn't accidentally unplug it when previously vacuuming. Additionally, if you're using a surge protector or power strip, check that you turned on the protector or strip.
- 3). Plug the vacuum cleaner into different wall outlets and try vacuuming again. If the vacuum still doesn't work, plug a different appliance into the outlets to confirm that the outlets work. If the outlets don't work, check the breaker switch to the room or contact an electrician to schedule an appointment to check the wiring.
