    • 3). Remove the cover from the hood using a screwdriver. The cover conceals the motor, fan and vent controls.

    • 4). Disconnect the wires from under the cover after you are certain the power is turned off. Use a voltage detector on the wires for precautionary measure to make sure each is free from electrical charge. Remove the end caps from the wires and untwist to disconnect.

    • 5). Remove the hood from the wall by removing the screws that connect the hood unit to the wall. Enlist the help of a partner to hold the hood in place as you unscrew it to prevent it from falling onto the stove.
