How to Remove Fungus From the Rubber Seal on a Washer
- 1). Set the washing machine on the hottest water temperature. Allow the washer drum to begin to fill with water.
- 2). Add 2 cups of white vinegar into the water. Alternatively, add 1 cup of bleach. Close the washing machine lid and allow it to complete a cycle.
- 3). Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Alternatively, fill the spray bottle with equal parts water and bleach.
- 4). Open the washer door. Liberally apply the vinegar to the rubber seal. Make sure to get the vinegar into the crevices between the washer and the rubber seal. Wipe the outside of the seal with a damp cloth.
- 5). Repeat the process twice a month to keep fungus at bay.
