How to Record Music on a Web Page
- 1). Go to freecorder.com and download Freecorder 4. Run the installer and follow the prompts to install the software.
- 2). Restart your browser.
- 3). Click the "Settings" tab in the Freecoder 4 toolbar.
- 4). Click on the folder on the right underneath the "Storage Directory" text box and browse your computer for your preferred save location.
- 5). Select the bit rate you would like to have for your recording under "Audio Capture Settings." A bit rate of 128 is CD quality and is standard. Lower bit rates result in smaller files but lower quality.
- 6). Select the "Record Using Windows Vista Technology" box if running Vista. Check the "Record Using Applian Audio Driver Technology" box if running Windows 7 or XP.
- 7). Decide if you want to keep the record window on top of all other windows you have open while Freecorder 4 is recording. (If you plan to record long files while doing other things on your machine, uncheck this.)
- 8). Click on the double arrow (>>) on the far right of the Freecoder 4 toolbar. In Mozilla, select "Stations" and then "Add and Edit Stations." In Internet Exporer, click the dobule arrow, click on the pulldown menu in the playback controls, and then select "Add and Edit Stations."
- 9). Type in the name of a station or click on one of the genres if you don't have a specific website from which you want to record. Click on the "Define Your Own Station" button and type in the website URL if you know the exact website. Choose a name for the station (this will appear in your stations list) and pick your stream type. Click "OK" in all open boxes to close them and apply the settings.

Click on the "Record Audio" button in the Freecorder 4 toolbar. - 11
In Mozilla, click on the double arrow and select the station from which you want to record from the "My Stations" list under "Stations." In Internet Explorer, click the double arrow and select the station from the drop-down menu in the playback controls. - 12
Click play. Click "Stop Recording" in the audio window when you are finished and rename your file if desired.
