Engine

• The 1998 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra featured a dual overhead cam, 4.6-liter (281 cubic inch), modular V-8 engine with electronic fuel injection. The 32-valve motor produced 305 horsepower at 5,800 rpm with 300 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. Its compression ratio was 9.85:1. • The '98 Cobra had a Borg-Warner T45 five-speed transmission. The rear end featured an 8.8-inch solid axle with Traction-Lock and a 3.27:1 differential ratio.
