How to Stop Razor Irritation

7
    • 1). Leave an extra day or two between shaves instead of shaving every day. While this may not be an option for some, it can be a simple solution for many to reduce irritation.

    • 2). Take a shower right before your shave to soften your face and get your whiskers to stand up. You can also do this by placing a warm cloth on your face for a few minutes before shaving.

    • 3). Place your shaving cream on your face and allow it to soak into your skin for a minute or two before shaving. Rub in a thick cream, adequately covering every spot.

    • 4). Use a razor with three, four or five blades instead of one or two so you will not have to drag the razor over a spot more than once.

    • 5). Do not press into your face with the razor. Simply pull it along your skin. Allow the razor to do the work without putting stress on the skin.

    • 6). Throw your razor away every two weeks to be sure that your blades are not dulling on your face.

    • 7). Rinse the blade often while shaving to prevent it from getting clogged and not pulling hair correctly.

    • 8). Use skin lotion or aftershave immediately after shaving to prevent your skin from becoming irritated and to help soothe sore spots.

    • 9). Remove any ingrown hairs with a set of tweezers and a pin before they become larger or inflamed blemishes.
