New York Bar has been rated by "Wallpaper Magazine" as "One Of The Best Rooftop Bars in the World" and is crisply furnished in dark woods and walnut floors. The upscale establishment features several cocktails, the largest selection of American wines in Japan, and a wide array of liqueurs, cognac, whiskey, gin and rum. New York Bar also satisfies your hunger with a menu from pizzas to steaks. Hours are Sunday through Wednesday 5 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Thursday through Sunday 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Jicoo Floating Bar

• For an out-of-this-world bar experience, hop aboard Jicoo Floating Bar, with pick up and drop off locations at Hiriode Pier and Odaiba on Tokyo Bay. This space-age bar concept was designed by anime cartoonist Leiji Matsumoto, and features a contemporary décor with an ever-changing psychedelic colored floor. The drink list is sophisticated yet small, but the nighttime views of the Tokyo skyline from the bay are magnificent. The vessel docks at Hinode Pier and Odaiba at 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. every half hour on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Lobby Lounge and Bar at the Ritz-Carlton

• Situated on the top nine floors of the Midtown Tower, the tallest building in Tokyo, the Ritz-Carlton's Lobby Lounge and Bar is actually on the 45th floor offering sweeping views of the city of Tokyo with an understated elegance. Decorated in subtle hues and furnished with comfortable armchairs, the Lobby Bar has an extensive drinks menu. Indulge in an ultra-expensive "Diamonds are Forever Martini", with a one carat diamond in the bottom of the glass, or stick with the more traditional and less wallet-busting, "Dirty Martini". Beer and wine are also available for the less adventurous and more thrifty. Live entertainment is provided daily between 2:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. The Lobby Bar and Lounge is open daily and serves breakfast, afternoon tea and drinks until 12:30 a.m.
