Finger Foods for Church Socials
- Fast food companies offer a variety of wraps along with the standard sandwich menu. These tasty treats can be created as a finger food with ease. Simply make your favorite wrap using slightly less of the ingredients than normal. Roll the shell tight and skewer it with toothpicks every inch or two. Slice the wrap between the toothpicks and lay the slices attractively on a serving tray. Give diners a choice by making several different varieties.
- The everyday ham sandwich can be transformed into a great finger food for a church social by layering assorted breads and fillings. Start with a piece of white bread and cover with meat. The next layer should be a dark wheat or pumpernickel bread. This layer can be covered with cheese. The third layer of bread could be rye or multi-grain. Only use four slices of bread per sandwich. Cut the layered sandwich into four sections, either diagonally or vertically. Skewer with toothpicks to hold the layers together. Arrange the finger sandwiches on a serving tray.
- Cream puffs are a decadent dessert that custard lovers everywhere enjoy. Instead of making large puffs with a sweet filling, create bite size puffs filled with tuna, chicken, egg or ham salad. This same idea can be used for breads. Make a recipe for bread per the instructions. Create small dough balls instead of an entire loaf. When the bread rolls are done baking, cut out the middle section and stuff with whatever filling is desired. These bite size breads are great when filled with spinach dip or a ham and cheese dip.
