How to Make Coffee Filter Snowflakes
Winter is here and the snow is falling. We just spent a week in Utah over the holidays and it snowed on Christmas day. It was really magical. This helped us get in the wintry spirit, so we're keeping the love of snow alive indoors as well, with some fun DIY snowflakes.
We love to use coffee filters to make snowflakes because they are already in the perfect circle shape. They are super simple to handle, fold, cut, and display.
You'll have so many snowflakes to hang all over the house!
Here's the how-to for making Coffee Filter Snowflakes!
Supplies for Coffee Filter Snowflakes:
- coffee filters
- scissors (adult and child scissors)
Steps for Coffee Filter Snowflakes:
1. Fold your coffee filter in half.
2. Fold it in half again, and even one more time if you’d like.
3. Using your scissors, start cutting small half circles or triangle cuts out of the folds. Be careful not to cut it all the way in half or you will have 2, any you don’t want that.
4. Open up your snowflake to see what you’ve created. If you need to, fold it back up and continue cutting.
To make your snowflakes more interesting, you can glue embellishments onto them, add glitter, or glue them to paper for a piece of art.
