Manual Camera Instructions
- The battery chamber is usually located near the tripod socket at the bottom of the camera, covered by a lid with a notch in the middle. Open the chamber by inserting a coin or other flat object into the notch and turning it counter-clockwise. The camera usually requires three volts of power; get either a three-volt 1/3N Lithium cell or either two LR44 alkaline or S76 silver batteries. These batteries can last for at least a year, depending on how often the camera is used.
- To access the film chamber, pull out the knob on the left side of the camera; this opens the back cover. Load the film in a place away from direct sunlight. When you load the film, make sure the cartridge has the end that sticks out pointing downward. Pull the small lead strip off and wrap it around the spool at the camera's other side, positioning it so the film's perforations align with the spool teeth. Never touch the shutter curtains. To advance the film, turn the film advance lever on the camera's right side a couple of times, then close the chamber lid. Turn the film speed setting ring to display the correct film speed if needed.
- Keep the film advance lever in its secured position alongside the camera's back when not in use. This prevents the shutter from being released. When you're ready to take a picture, pull this level back into its ready position, which is at a 30-degree angle. Remove the lens cap, then turn the aperture ring on the lens until the lens is focused. After you press the small silver shutter button to take the shot, turn the advance lever counterclockwise all the way it will go; this moves the film into the next available exposure position.
- Once the entire roll of film is used, rewind it with the film crank on the left side. This crank is lifted up and turned in its arrow's direction until there is no more tension--meaning the crank turns faster. Reopen the film chamber and remove the film canister. Again, you must do this away from direct sunlight. Pushing the film crank back down will allow you to lock another film roll inside.
