How to Repair the Chain on a 49cc Mini Pocket Dirt Bike
- 1). Remove the axle nut from the rear wheel using pliers. Lift the pocket bike off the ground using a motorcycle jack.
- 2). Place the tip of a push rod onto the axle bolt. Tap the axle bolt from the bike using a hammer. Pull the bolt from the axle and push the rear wheel toward the engine.
- 3). Pull the chain off the rear wheel and transmission sprocket. Inspect the sprockets for any wear or damage.
- 4). Place the new chain onto the transmission sprocket. Guide the chain to the rear wheel and place it onto the sprocket.
- 5). Pull the rear wheel back until the chain is tight. Insert the axle bolt and tap it into the axle to secure the rear wheel to the frame. Replace and tighten the axle nut and lower the pocket bike to the ground.
