IOGear Wireless RF Keyboard/Optical Mouse Combo
About.com Rating
The Bottom Line
The IOGear Wireless RF Keyboard/Optical Mouse Combo are a good alternative to using the keyboard and/or touchpad. The IOGear keyboard is narrower than a standard size keyboard and may require some time to adjust to using. Even though the mouse is designed for right-handed people, I still had no problems using it with my left hand and it has a nice sturdy feel to it.

Guide Review - IOGear Wireless RF Keyboard/Optical Mouse Combo
Setting up the IOGear Wireless RF Keyboard/Optical Mouse Combo wasn't a problem. I shut down my system, disconnected my other mouse and keyboard and then connected the receiver/charge base.
The mouse does have an ON/OFF switch on the bottom - make sure it's turned on before you start your computer. My OS detected the new keyboard and mouse and installed the drivers.
What I had the most difficulty with and was the most time consuming was getting the connection between the mouse and receiver. The button on the receiver is right in front and doesn't require much pressure to get lit up green. The mouse on the otherhand has a very tiny button, I had to use the tip of a pen cap to press this. Getting this connection recognized took a few minutes.
The keyboard on the otherhand was much easier to get connected and the button is a better size.
Once you have tested that both gadgets are connected, there are additional drivers to install which enable you to customize the keyboard keys and the mouse keys.
The optical mouse is 5 button style which makes it great for working if you want to use just the mouse with your laptop. It adds a great deal of functionality and ease of use for a laptop.
I enjoyed using the IOGear Wireless RF Keyboard/Optical Mouse Combo but feel it's important to point out that adjusting to the feel of the keyboard and how the mouse operates will take time. If you purchase this combo, don't take it on a business trip before you've had some time getting used to it.
