Hand Picking Which Baby Gender You Conceive
When my mom was trying to get pregnant, the only resources that she had for picking my gender were old wives tales and hoping for the best. Things are so different today. If you're willing to spend thousands of dollars, you can customize your baby's gender in a clinic. Luckily though, there are other options. Today, we know more about the differences between the sperm that produces girl and boy babies. Today, we understand how acidity, timing, and intercourse positioning all go into determining a baby's gender. This article will tell you exactly what goes into picking the gender of your baby in the comfort of your own home.
The Three Things That Go Into Picking Your Baby's Gender: There are essentially three things that determine your baby's sex. They all work together so it's important that you address them all in your conception regimen. They are: timing your conception correctly depending on the gender you want; getting your PH to where it needs to be to get the sex that you want; and using the appropriate intercourse positions. There are also a few tools that can help to make some of these things go easier and require less guess work. I'll discuss them, one by one, below.
Understanding The Differences In The Sperm That Determines Gender: A man's sperm contains two sets of chromosomes – X and Y. If a Y fertilizes your waiting egg first, then a boy baby will be the result. The opposite (a girl) is true if an X sperm chromosome gets there first.
But, this isn't as much of a random thing as you might think. Because these chromosomes behave differently and will react very differently within your body depending on what they encounter when they get there. The girl sperm are by far the strongest of the two. They can live longer and it takes a lot more to weaken them. But, the boy sperm are the faster of the two. However, this sometimes isn't as big as an advantage as you might think because they are so weak that they often don't have the chance to race. It doesn't take much to shake, weaken them, or kill them off.
That's why it's so important that you tweak your body and your circumstances to be as friendly as is possible to the sperm chromosomes that you want to encourage. If you want a girl, you want for your body and your regimen to be hostile to Y sperm and vice versa.
The Importance Of Timing And Your Baby's Gender: Since the boy sperm is weak, forcing them to wait for your egg ensures that there is going to be less of them once they get there. So, if you want a boy, conceive on the day of ovulation. And, if you want a girl, you should conceive around three days before you ovulate.
This sounds straightforward but many people make the mistake of thinking that they know when they've ovulated when they really don't. I encourage people to try one of the saliva or urine ovulation predictors to confirm that they are ovulating when they think they are. When I did this, I was shocked that I had it all wrong. I wanted a boy, but was trying to conceive around day 14. Since I was actually ovulating around day 20, I was actually making my odds of a girl much higher.
PH, Acidity, And The Sex Of Your Baby: Another thing that is really important is your body and vaginal PH. Boy sperm can not withstand a high PH. So, if you want a girl, you should raise your PH. If you want a boy, you'll need to lower it. There are a few ways to do this. You can put yourself on a high acid / high PH diet for a girl or an alkaline diet for a boy. Please keep in mind that you aren't limiting your calories. You're changing the types of foods that you eat (only until you get your PH to where it needs to be), but you aren't trying to limit the amount of food that you take in at all.
Another way to change PH is through douching. I know that this too may seem old fashioned, but I'm not talking about baking soda and / or vinegar and water. Things have come a long way since then. There are douche and food recipes that can help you out with this. And, if you're really impatient and want quicker results, you can try the diet and the douching together.
Sexual Positions And Baby Gender: The girl sperm can afford a long trip to the egg because of their hardiness. So, if you want a female baby, use positions that are shallow and place the sperm far away from the cervix. For a boy, use deep penetration to place sperm very close to the cervix.
I've put together a few websites that take a lot of the guess work out of choosing your baby's gender. You'll find step by step instructions, resources, douche recipes and food lists, tips, support, and examples of ovulation predictors / PH testing strips.
