How to Find a Contact for Companies on a Credit Report
- 1). Review your credit bureau report which can be ordered from annualcreditreport.com. Consumers are authorized to obtain one free credit report per year. Companies typically list their contact information through one of the three credit bureaus and this information is typically listed on the credit report.
- 2). Contact the specific reporting credit bureau. More detailed contact information may be obtained directly from Equifax, Experian or TransUnion.
- 3). Obtain contact information for the specific company through a resource such as the yellow pages, the Better Business Bureau or by calling toll free directory assistance. If only a business name is provided through the credit report, some extra digging may be required. However, if a dispute is initiated, the credit bureau will provide you with the company information with whom they contacted and the company will likely be in contact with you as well.
