Sherlock

Sherlock is an ongoing TV series in BBC. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the legendary Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson, Sherlock's sidekick. This adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's very popular detective saga has a different twist.

The show's setting is in modern-day England. Sherlock has a close relation to one of the strongest people in the British government. Also, John Watson was an army doctor before his adventures with Sherlock began. Of course, 221B Baker Street remains to be the duo's headquarters. I believe fans will protest wildly when the producers try to change that.

Sherlock still deals with solving crimes by being a consultant to the police. The amusing thing is that Sherlock fans make the cutest fan fiction and fan art of Sherlock and Watson. Even in the show, other characters like their landlady even thought that Sherlock and Watson were a couple simply because they are always so close.

Fringe

Although Fringe has been widely known as a series touching on the idea of fringe science—mind control, hypnosis, parallel universes, and the like—it has a less complex start with FBI agent, Olivia Dunham, assigned to a case she didn't know would change her career and life altogether.

The show is basically a crime series with a touch of the extraordinary. The three main roles in the show are played by Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, and John Noble. The series lasted five seasons and was focused on parallel universes and their mysteries and predicaments.

Although each episode tackles a different mysterious criminal case, they are brilliantly woven into a wider picture of conspiracy theories, world terrorism, and the existence of other worlds.

CSI

The other name for CSI is CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The show was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and premiered back in 2000. It started out as CSI: Las Vegas and then later on continued as CSI: Miami and CSI: NY. The series is a powerful combination of crime, criminal investigation, and drama.

Law & Order

Law & Order is an interesting mix of police investigation and criminal law. It has all the excitement of investigation procedures and all the drama of legal proceedings and trials. Having premiered in 1990 and ended in 2010, Law & Order is said to be one of the longest running shows in American television.

The interesting thing about the show is that the storylines are often adapted from real cases, usually only changing the motive of the crime and the identity of the criminal.

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is one of the hit wonders in American television today. The story revolves around Walter White, portrayed by Bryan Cranston. Having discovered that he has lung cancer, he leaves his profession as a chemistry teacher and resorts to making and selling methamphetamine. He is aided by his former student. Jesse Pinkman is portrayed by Aaron Paul.

Critics proclaim that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul had brilliant performances all throughout the series. From its premiere in 2008 to its end in 2013, Breaking Bad inspired a solid and large following.
