How to Easily Set Up an Internet Connection

Follow these steps to help you get connected to the internet: Step 1 Go to Start - Network.
Step2 In the Network window click Network and Sharing Center.
Step 3 This will bring up the Network and Sharing Center window.
On the left hand column there is a list of tasks.
From that list select the link titled Set Up a Connection or Network Link.
Step 4 After clicking the link a dialogue box should appear.
From the options available choose the default option which is Connect to the Internet and then click next.
Step 5 In the following dialogue box you will asked for your type of connection.
If you already have a connection, another window appears on your screen and will ask you if you want to use your existing connection.
Otherwise click the Set Up A New Connection option.
Step 6 The Connect to the Internet dialogue box will appear on your screen.
This box will ask you to provide a username and password.
This information will be provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) when you joined up with them.
When you have the relevant information fill out the username and password text box.
There is another text box underneath the password box that asks you if you want to fill in a connection name.
When you have filled in the necessary boxes you can click the Connect button at the bottom right hand corner of the box.
When you press the connect button your connection will be detected automatically.
Step 7 The Network and Sharing dialogue box will appear when your connection is detected.
Click on the Close button with your mouse.
The above way is the long way of doing.
For the majority of cases your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will provide you with either a CD or DVD.
This will provide you with the necessary instructions to connect automatically without needing to go through the above steps.
