The Operation of a Coleman Fuel Stove
- There are two different kinds of Coleman stoves -- propane stoves and liquid fuel stoves. The propane stoves operate using propane canisters, while the liquid fuel stoves operate using liquid fuel produced by Coleman for use with their stoves or using unleaded gasoline. There are also one-burner, two-burner and three-burner stoves.
- Both types of stoves serve a variety of purposes, such as for camping and tailgating. They are compact, with most being approximately 20 inches in length by 13 inches in width by 5 inches in height when closed for the sake of portability.
- All Coleman fuel stoves are only two pieces, not including the fuel canister for the propane stoves. The stove and burners are all one piece, with the only removable piece being the fuel line. All Coleman stoves also have wind shields for use outdoors.
- Most new model Coleman stoves have a push-button starter. Once the fuel source is attached, lighting the stove is as easy as turning on the fuel and pushing the starter button to ignite the burners. On the models that do not include a push-button starter, simply use a lighter or a match to ignite the burners. Burner heat can be regulated by using dials on the stove or on the fuel source.
