Free Football Printables for Scrapbooking
Football scrapbooking is made easier with this free printable word art download and scrapbook page sketch. The word art contains classic phrases and inspirational quotes about football and for football players. The page sketch can be used for any theme scrapbook page. I have broken down the steps of assembling the page to make it easier for you to see how each piece of the sketch translates into the finished scrapbook page layout. The combination of the football word art and the free sketch are all the inspiration you will need to create a winning scrapbook page about your favorite player, team, or trip to a big game.
Word art is creatively designed words, phrases, and quotes that are saved as an image file. They can be printed on cardstock, patterned paper, vellum, or transparencies. The words and phrases in this collection are all themed around football and are appropriate for all levels of players. I have included page titles like "Football" and "Live Life 10 Yards at a Time" along with inspirational quotes by classic football favorites Paul Bryant and Vince Lombardi. I wanted to do a play on the football penalty "Unnecessary Roughness" for the page title of my scrapbook page shown below, so I also included "Necessary Toughness" as one of the pieces of word art in this download.

To view this sketch full-size you can click on the small image shown here. To save the sketch to your computer for future scrapbooking, right click on the full-size image and select "save as." Then, you will be asked for a location on your computer where you wish to store the image file. You may want to create a folder that holds all of your sketches so that you can flip through them when you need inspiration.
The sketch shown here has room for 4 photos - one 4x6 inch photo and three 3x4 inch pictures. The spaces for word art have also been marked to give you an idea of how you might want to place the word art that you have downloaded from the above link. The tiny circles on the sketch show you where I have placed mini-brads on my layout.
The background paper of this page is a brightly colored piece of patterned, double-sided, cardstock from Glimpses by Signify Pink. The name of the paper is Play Book. I added a 2 1/2 inch strip of paper across the bottom from a sheet called You're a Star. At the top edge of that strip, I used pieces from other sheets to create a layered border. You could also use ribbon for this border. The last pieces on the page background are from the Free Football Word Art collection above. I printed inserted the images into a Word document and then printed them on an overhead transparency that was designed for Laser Jet printers. I was easily able to identify which photo would be the focal point picture for my scrapbook page. I wanted to give extra attention to this photo so I created a fancy mat for it. I used a piece of the You're a Star patterned paper which I matted on solid red cardstock to create the base. On top of that I added another piece of Football Word Art which I had printed on a transparency. To attach the transparency to the photo mat, I used mini-brads on one side and regular adhesive on the side that would be hidden beneath the photo. Then I added my picture and a cute little spiral paper clip as an embellishment.

Now it is time to put all the pieces together. By following the sketch, I trimmed my supporting photos down to 3x4 inches. (Actually, I printed them as jumbo wallets using my Epson PictureMate printer.) I then put everything in place to see how it all fit before I attached anything to my scrapbook page layout. Once I was happy with the placement of all of the components of the page, I then used double-sided adhesive to adhere each part. You can add extra little embellishments as desired, like a football brad, to finish off the page.

2. Scrapbook Page Sketch for Word Art
