- 1). Fine tune your resume. Your resume should highlight your education, experience and skills that are relevant for the desired position. For example, if you are looking for a job as a web page administrator with Get Away Today, add your work experience, education and technical skills that are relevant to that position, such as HTML and web development, to your resume.
- 2). Format your cover letter in business letter format. The margins should be one inch on all sides, aligned left, and typed in size 12 font. The font should be the same as your resume. Address the letter to the human resources department. Then skip a line.
- 3). Write the body of your cover letter. None of your paragraphs should be indented. In the first paragraph, explain why you are writing the letter.
