    Catechism and Apologetics

    • The Catholic Information Network contains a wealth of resources for anything Catholic. This website (cin.org) offers an interactive means of communication regarding various topics of interest to Catholics and other members of the Christian community. The site has an online version of the Baltimore Catechism and the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well as an Apologetics link. Both the Catechisms and Apologetics links contain information on confirmation's origins and meanings -- important when preparing students to receive the sacrament.

    Worksheets and Leaflets

    • Catholic Faith Education is an online source for Catholic educators offering information on many topics relating to all things Catholic. This website (catholicfaitheducation.blogspot.com) has links for worksheets and leaflets that can be downloaded and used in classes preparing students for confirmation. Also included are links pertaining to the meaning and ritual of confirmation for instructors who require further information on confirmation.

    Textbooks

    • Catholic textbooks for junior high students preparing for confirmation are available at the Communication Center website (comcenter.com). These textbooks encompass an entire confirmation education program or supplement an existing course of study. Eighteen instruction books are offered, including those from Liguori, Sadlier, Ignatius, St. Mary's Press and OSV. Conveniently organized, the site allows you to browse titles and make purchases. The Communication Center also has several titles following the restored practice of confirming younger students following their first communion.

    Programs

    • The Good Ground Press is a publishing ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The website offers two programs for confirmation entitled "Moving in the Spirit" and "Giver of Life." Moving In The Spirit, for example has six sections -- Human freedom, Scripture, Spirituality, Sacraments, Service and Confirmation, each comprised of handouts that include interactive stories and activities as well as doctrinal content. Both programs work within flexible nine-month and 18-month timeframes.
