School and summer holidays are the perfect time to give children a break from the routines that they're accustomed to, allow them to travel, make friends from around the world and broaden their horizons by acquiring new skills. Australia is a continent which can offer children a great deal of outdoor and cultural activities. - Scripture Union Bike Camp is a non-denominational camp for kids on their school holidays located in New South Wales, Australia. The camp stresses having fun in the outdoors, thus kids spend time cycling, camping, hiking and realizing how they can travel great distances by expending their own energy. The camp travels about 30 miles per day, taking a break every five or six miles. Some days are harder than others depending on the terrain. Kids don't have to carry their own gear as two support vehicles store tents and other camping supplies. Kids help prepare the meals cooked on an open fire. Kids must wear helmets and be at least nine years of age and no older than 12.
