How to Attach Tow Straps to a Dodge Dakota
- 1). Bend down so the metal loops on the underside of the front of the truck are visible. Look for the loops to the left side of the wheels and just behind the bumper.
- 2). Clip the tow-strap one-way hook onto the loops. If the truck is stuck and you are pulling it out, place the tow-strap on the side that has the highest point above the ground. For example, if the truck is leaning to the left and the left hook is exposed, clip onto the left hook.
- 3). Attach two tow straps, one on each side, for straight out tows and pulls. Use the loops to attach the tow-strap hooks.
- 1). Bend down at the back of the truck and look under the bumper and near the axle. Find the metal loops behind the bumper.
- 2). Clip the tow-strap clip to the loop to secure the strap for towing. Clip a second strap at the opposite side loop.
- 3). Bring the tow-straps toward the center of the truck as you back away from the rig. Bring the tow together so they are in the center of the truck and attach a third tow strap at the middle, making a triangle with a single strap extending out from the tip of the angle away from the truck. Use this single strap to attach to the tow-vehicle or trailer.
