Golf Push Carts - Are You Using One

1
If there was a way for you to improve your health, possibly your golf game, and save yourself a good chunk of money over the course of a season, why wouldn't you? As a former PGA professional, I can tell you, there is a way for you to potentially do all three. And the neat thing is, it's surprisingly easy to do. It's called a golf push cart, and if you're not using one, you should strongly consider it. You'll be surprised to see how walking with one of these carts while you play can have a positive effect on each one of these things.

It's been said that golf is a game of a lifetime. It's a game that you can start playing as a young child, and as long as your health permits, you can continue to play well into your senior years. The key is to be healthy enough to continue to play, and on top of that, being able to do so on a fixed income when you retire. There are steps you can take right now that will put you on the road to being able to do just that. As a former PGA teaching professional, here's some advice how you can start improving your health, probably your game, and if you normally ride, save a lot of money in the process. Starting with the next time you play, instead of renting a riding cart, consider walking using a golf push cart. This will immediately put you on a path to a healthier you, and if you play regularly and rent a riding cart each time, with the amount of money you would save over the course of a season...well let's just say you could be playing with the latest equipment next year or paying a good chunk of your membership dues or greens fees!

Many golfers spend hundreds of dollars on their game. Whether it's new equipment, lessons, practice aids, or accessories, if they think it will improve their game, it's worth the money. Many golfers have already figured out that by making a small investment in a golf push cart, they can not only play the game they love and improve their health, they can save hundreds of dollars over the course of a season.

Push carts are being seen in increasing numbers on the golf course. Golfers who are serious about their game know that walking when they play is not only good for their health, but they play better when they walk. Everyone strives for consistency in golf. It's important to remember however, that if you want to give yourself the best chance to play well, don't limit that consistency to the swing. Of course having a consistent swing is going to help, but what are you doing in between shots? If you're jumping in a riding cart after each shot, you could be throwing your rhythm off without realizing it. When a player rides, they arrive at their ball so quickly, that they end up standing around and waiting to hit their next shot because the group in front hasn't cleared the green yet. Or they arrive at the next tee and have to wait for the group in front to hit their second shots before they can tee off. If that player was walking, they would arrive from their previous shot to their next shot at a consistent pace. They'd be able to "visualize" the next shot that they're going to try to hit as they approach their ball from behind (something every touring pro does). The group in front should be just about ready to exit the green which means you can get into your pre-shot routine much sooner and therefore less standing around. This will allow you to keep your head in the game instead of trying to re-focus each time you hit a shot. Walking will allow you to play at a consistent pace throughout the entire round.

Everyone knows that walking is good for your health, but it can get boring sometimes. As golfers, we have the luxury of being able to play golf while we walk. You'll expend little or no extra energy using a push cart to get your clubs around the course while you play compared to carrying your clubs or pulling them behind you. The extra spring in your step that you'll have at the end of your round can only serve to help your score as you won't be fighting your swing down the stretch.

Because 3-wheel and 4-wheel push carts are becoming so popular and takes less effort to use, many golf courses are now replacing their fleet of 2-wheelers. Along with many standard features, golfers who own their own, can customize them with any number of golf push cart accessories. Just about anything a player would want can be added to help make their round of golf almost as enjoyable as making a birdie on the last hole to win your weekly match
