• Named after a Greek fishing village on the island of Samos in the Aegean Sea, Kokkari Estiatorio is located in the Financial District across from Sidney Walton Park. Specializing in authentic Greek cuisine, Kokkari contains an old-world décor to go with the meals served. It is open for lunch on weekdays only. Dinner hours vary. Masa's

• Located at the border of Nob Hill and Union Square in San Francisco, the French-themed Masa's is a 25-year-old institution in the heart of the city. Named by Vogue Magazine as one of the best and most romantic restaurants in the world, Masa's offers meals in either five- or nine-course servings, all created by Ron Siegel, the first American "Iron Chef" winner. Masa's accepts reservations. There is a private wine cellar designed for special occasions that can fit from two to 14 people. Quince

• Known for its dynamic pasta dishes, Quince is an Italian restaurant that recently moved into a larger space in the Financial District. Consistently ranking on top-10 lists for the best restaurants in San Francisco, Quince serves five-course meals that feature fine Italian cuisine. There is a tasting menu available as well. Fifth Floor Restaurant

• Located on the fifth floor of the Hotel Palomar in San Francisco's Union Square, the Fifth Floor Restaurant provides the best in new American cuisine, wine options and mixed drinks. The dining room is open Monday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. The 44-seat lounge sits next to the dining room. The hours for the lounge include breakfast hours weekdays from 7 to 10 a.m. and 8 to 11 a.m. on the weekends. The Fifth Floor Restaurant is a recipient of a 2010 Michelin Star and has been teamed in the past with San Francisco's Dine About Town program. Reservations are recommended.
