How to Repair Sony LCD TVs
- 1). Locate devices that use batteries or electrical energy away from your Sony LCD TV. Devices such as fluorescent light bulbs and vacuum cleaners can cause pictures to become grainy and pixelated if positioned too near to your TV.
- 2). Make sure that these devices are switched off if you don't have the space to store them in another location.
- 3). Press the "Menu" button on your Sony LCD remote control if pictures appear to lack definition or color.
- 4). Select "Picture Settings" and change the "Color," "Contrast" and "Brightness" levels using the up and down arrows on your remote control.
- 1). Push the "Menu" button on the remote control if your Sony LCD is emitting sound at very low levels or no sound at all. Select "Audio" from the options onscreen and then "Stereo" if not already preselected.
- 2). Check that the speaker balance indicator is situated centrally rather than pushed toward the left or right speaker. Setting the audio output to one side or the other will substantially inhibit sound output.
- 3). Change the volume settings on any connected devices, such as a Blu-ray player or games console, connected to your Sony LCD TV. Audio on external devices can normally be accessed by selecting "Menu" followed by the "Audio" through the onscreen displays.
- 1). Switch off your Sony LCD screen if you can see a tiny segment is fixed in color and doesn't change with the displayed image. This is known as a dead pixel and is a problem that afflicts Plasma and LCD televisions.
- 2). Wait for around three minutes, allowing the set time to cool down. Now apply moderate pressure to the effected area with a damp, clean cloth.
- 3). Wait for 15 seconds and restore power to the TV, while still holding the cloth firmly in place. Download pixel repair programs online if problems persist.
