The Freedom to Meet Your Customers" Needs
My friend Lisbeth Calandrino, author of "Red Hot Customer Service", told a great story in a recent blog post/newsletter.
She wanted a sandwich with only the peppers from a sausage and peppers vendor, and the girl would not give it to her.
It's against the rules, and if everyone ordered that she would run out of peppers for the people who want both.
It reminds me of when Subway first added spinach salads.
In some stores (maybe not all) if people asked for spinach on their sub instead of lettuce, the staff would not give it to them because they might run out of spinach for salads.
Thank heavens in MLM we have more authority! Of course you must read and abide by your company policies and procedures.
But since you are purchasing the products and literature, normally you may:
If you worked at that sausage and peppers stand and you gave the customer just the peppers, you might win their loyalty but what if you are not working when they return? With an MLM business, they can always deal with you.
If you give them what they want, not only will they return but they will refer others or maybe even join your team.
Never underestimate the power of meeting someone's needs and wants.
If they can't get what they want from you they are likely to keep looking.
In most cases, as an independent distributor you have a great deal of flexibility to offer solutions that traditional businesses can't.
Use it! It feels great to have the power to give people what they really want.
Sure beats following someone else's rules!

But since you are purchasing the products and literature, normally you may:
- Give away product samples
- Use products in raffle prizes
- Host sampling parties
- Break up kits and sell the products individually
- Order in bulk for a discount, and sell the products individually
- Place brochures and business cards in any establishment that allows it
- Promote your product and business at networking events without asking permission
- Build relationships on social media and learn what people want
- Make product suggestions for your customers, or let them do it, and expect to be heard
- Trade your products for services you use like hair cuts or spa treatments
- Let people reach you "after hours" by email or phone or social media
