Acne is Nobody"s Friend

11
Acne is nobody's friend, whether you are popular or self-conscious, teen or adult, athlete or book worm, nobody likes to wake up to find a new pimple on their skin.
Yet millions of teens and adults wake up to that fact every single day.
For some, especially in their middle school and high school years, it becomes a fact of life.
They are going through puberty and hormones are flying and acne has wielded it's ugly wand and covered their skin in "polka-dots".
For others it's the occasional zit that rears it's ugly head, usually in a prominent location such as a cheek, chin or nose.
Regardless of where or when, nobody likes these imperfections and while there is not a lot someone can do, there are many things one can do to help prevent and get rid of these unwanted eruptions of the skin First, understand what acne is: an Inflammation of the skin that occurs inside a pore.
The inflammation starts deep in the skin 1-2 weeks before anything is noticed on the surface.
This is important to remember and is the key to prevention.
Pimples start deep in the skin and it takes a week or more for them to surface, so you can't just treat the pimples you see, but you must go deeper and treat the pimples you don't see as well.
That is why a regular Full-Face Treatment Regularly and Consistently is the Answer.
Don't just spot treat the pimples you see, but take care of the entire complexion to help prevent the pimples you don't see.
Pending on the extent of the acne a complete cleansing and application of treatment should be done 1 -2x/day.
Three steps are necessary to get rid of and prevent pimples: 1.
Unclog (and keep unclogged pores).
Dead skin cells stick to natural skin oil and can clump and clog pores and set the stage for acne.
Keep pores clear by using a wash every day.
Effective acne washes include salicylic acid, alpha hydroxyl acids, retinoids or sulfur ingredients, so read the label! 2.
Kill Bacteria.
The clogged pore creates and air-tight environment, promoting bacteria growth, benzoyl peroxide is the preferred ingredient (2.
5%).
3.
Reduce Inflammation.
Red and white blood cells are sent to the clogged, bacteria-filled pore, resulting in a pimple.
In a pinch-apply ice indirectly for 15 min, followed by 1% hydrocortisone to reduce redness and swelling.
The key is preventing acne.
And that happens by having a regular cleansing routine with proven products.
