Definition of Buttonhead or Button Buck
Definition:
A buttonhead, also known as a button buck, is a young buck (male) deer. The "buttons" are the furry bumps on his head where antlers will one day grow, if he lives long enough.
A button buck has no polished antler showing above the hairline.
Some folks use other terminology; I have heard them called nubbin bucks and knotheads - but most often, they are called buttonheads.
