How to Make Terry Swimsuit Coverups
- 1). Fold a large terry cloth towel in half. It doesn't matter what side, since the towel looks the same on both sides.
- 2). Place a swimsuit onto the towel to use it as a guide and cut around its contour, at least two inches away from the swimsuit. It can also be cut as a rectangle if preferred.
- 3). Pin one of the longer sides together and sew it with the sewing machine. If you open it up, it would look like one big piece instead of two pieces.
- 4). Fold the edge in on the other side to make a 1-inch hem and pin in place. Do the same thing to the back side of the cover-up and then sew each hem separately, using the sewing machine. Remove the pins.
- 5). Sew snaps by hand, 4 inches away from top to bottom. Make sure the snaps are even to ensure a smooth look when snapped closed.
- 6). Cut two strips from the towel scraps at least 8 inches long to use as straps for the cover-up. Sew one end onto the inside front of the cover-up and then sew the other end to the inside back. Repeat with the other strap. The cover-up is finished.
