How to Make Kool-Aid in a Brita Filtered Pitcher

1
    • 1). Open a new Brita filter package and fully submerge the filter in a glass of cold water for 15 minutes.

    • 2). Place the filter in the pitcher's upper reservoir section, and fill the reservoir with water. Allow the water to fully run down through the filter. Dump this water out and refill the pitcher. Allow the water to run through the filter again and dump it out. This will get rid of any loose carbon particles from the filter.

    • 3). Pour water into the pitcher's upper reservoir, and allow the water to completely run through the filter and collect in the lower part of the pitcher. Pour this filtered water into the second pitcher until you get 2 quarts of water. Depending on the size of the Brita pitcher, you may have to fill the top reservoir of the pitcher several times to make 2 quarts.

    • 4). Remove the upper reservoir portion of the pitcher along with the filter and set aside. This will give you more room to stir the drink.

    • 5). Open the container and pour in the Kool-Aid powder and sugar. Pour in half of the water from the second pitcher. Stir to allow the powder to dissolve fully in the water.

    • 6). Carefully pour in the rest of the water from the other pitcher and continue to stir.

    • 7). Replace the lid on the Brita pitcher and place in the refrigerator to chill, or add ice cubes to chill it faster.

    • 8). Pour into glasses and serve.
