How to Install a Flex Perf Pipe
- 1). Complete a visual inspection of your home to determine on which side of your home the yard is highest. This is the end of the house where water will enter the basement.
- 2). Dig a 24-inch by 6-inch wide ditch that wraps around three sides of your house. Start with the highest wall and wrap around to the connecting walls. Dig the ditch 72 inches away form the foundation wall.
- 3). Place 2 inches of pea gravel in the bottom of the ditch.
- 4). Slide mesh tube netting onto flexible perforated tubing if the perforation goes all the way around the tubing. If the tubing is perforated on only one side, the netting is not required.
- 5). Place the tubing in the ditch. Bend the tubing around the corners so the tubing extends to all three sides of the house. If the tubing has holes on only the bottom, make sure the holes face downward.
- 6). Cover the tubing with pea gravel until it comes within 1 inch of the ground surface.
- 7). Fill in the ditch with dirt and reseed the ground.
