How Walking Stimulates Your Brain

29
We all have known people that when they are stressed because they are facing difficult problems "pacing" around in their offices or homes.
They walk back and forth usually in a small area or around in circles which offers one of the best mental boost and often problems are solved.
Even small spurts of walking can increase your brain's ability to make decisions, solve problems and focus on a solution.
When a person takes their "pacing" outdoors in the fresh air and the sunshine and walk, even for 15 minutes, have long term benefits.
The brain perks continue long after you cool down from walking..
What happens to your brain when you walk? The aerobic activity releases hormones like adrenaline and they are important elements in your nervous system.
Endorphins are also released in your body when you are walking and relieves pain and creates a sense of well being and can produce a relieve from sadness, depression or anxiety.
Successful people will always schedule time for exercise to balance their life and activate those brain cells necessary to make decisions.
I love the activity that is being incorporated into business planning like holding meetings while walking outside.
You can see small groups of people together discussing an issue or solving problem.
By this simple movement it has been shown that it reduces stress; clears the brain; taps into a creative side of the brain; thinking of new ideas and solving problem.
Remember that the time you can dedicate to walking is time your brain and mind need for clarity and strength.
When you feel overwhelmed go outside breathe in the fresh air and let the sunshine fall on your skin as well as giving your brain a necessary boost and walk.
