The Method to Remove Gum From Asphalt or Concrete
- 1). Fill a plastic bag with ice cubes. Seal the opening of the bag.
- 2). Lay the bag of ice cubes directly on top of the gum. Keep the bag on the gum until the wad hardens.
- 3). Scrape off as much gum as possible with a plastic scraper.
- 4). Saturate a soft cloth with denatured alcohol. Place the damp cloth on the remaining gummy mess. Keep the cloth on the gum for 10 minutes.
- 5). Scrape off the remaining gum with a wire brush.
- 6). Mix 1 tbsp. of liquid dish soap with 1 gallon of hot water in a plastic bucket. Using a scrub brush, scrub the cement or asphalt with the soapy water. Rinse the area thoroughly with water.
