How to Clean Comfortex Symphony Blinds
- 1). Dust your Symphony blinds with either a vacuum or feather duster. If using a vacuum, attach a soft-bristled brush or upholstery attachment to the vacuum's hose. Carefully run the attachment along each ledge of the honeycomb-style cellular or pleated surface and then repeat on the other side of the blinds. If you own honeycomb-style cellular blinds, also run the attachment along the sides of the blinds to remove any dust or dirt that may have settled inside of the fabric cells.
- 2). Pull open the blinds or remove (unclip and slide) the blinds from the brackets and set aside. Clean the windows with a glass cleaner and a lint-free microfiber cloth to prevent staining of the outside-facing portion of the blinds from any dirt, greasy smudge marks or other debris on the windows or window frames. When finished, air-dry completely before reattaching or closing the blinds.
- 3). Clean any stains on your Symphony blinds by mixing lukewarm water and clear mild detergent. Carefully, dab the mixture onto the stain using a sponge or lint-free microfiber cloth. Rinse, again with light dabbing, using clean lukewarm water. If dealing with a difficult stain, remove the blinds from the brackets and soak in clean, warm water. Try to dab away the stain again. If the stain fades, pull the cord on your blinds to pack the cells or pleats together so that when try the cell/pleat edges remain sharp.
- 4). Use a strong detergent or stain remover, if the stain doesn't fade. Pick a part of the blind that you usually don't see such as the bottom of the last ledge of the cells or pleats, rub a small spot of the cleaner on the surface and wait at least 10 minutes to see if it stains the fabric.
