X10 Vanguard Troubleshooting

1

    Poor Picture Quality

    • Poor picture quality indicates the device's antennas may not be positioned properly. To fix the problem, readjust the antennas on the device's video receiver and the camera itself. The video receiver's and the camera's antennas should be pointing toward each other. For reference, the side of the camera's antenna with the dot on it should be facing the side of the receiver's antenna with the four squares on it.

    Camera Not Responding

    • If the camera is not responding to the remote control, it may not be receiving the signal from the remote. To fix this, ensure the camera is set for remote control by pressing the C1 button on the remote. If the light on the remote doesn't turn on when the button is pressed and camera is still not responding, this indicates the remote's batteries are dead. Replace the batteries and try again.

    Camera Not Focusing

    • Lack of focus indicates that either the camera's lens cap is still on or the lens is dirty. Remove the protective lens cap and zoom out all the way; if the camera doesn't automatically refocus, gently wipe the lens with a damp cloth to get rid of any dust which may be distorting the device's focus.
