How to Convert Movies to Play On PSP
- 1). Select the videos that you want to convert. You can convert nearly any file, including those purchased from online merchants like Amazon.com and digital copies included on DVDs
- 2). Download a formatting program. There are several free programs available, including FormatFactory (which can also convert videos to play on smartphones like the iPhone and BlackBerry) or the PSP-centric PSP Video 9. See the Resources section for more information on these programs.
- 3). Change your files into the .MP4 file. This part of the process will depend largely on the program you are using. Format Factory and PSP Video both have a "browse" button that you can click and then an "OK" button which will begin the process. The converted file will then appear in a target folder, which is generally located in your program files.
- 4). Transfer your new files to your PSP. You can do this by connecting your PSP via mini-USB to your computer, and then dragging the new files into a dedicated folder in the "MP_ROOT" directory to store your videos. Even though you may already see a PSP video folder in the main directory, this folder will not accept videos transferred from your PC, so you need to create your own in the "MP_ROOT" category.
