How to Kill Green Mold with Bleach
- 1). Open windows and turn on fans to ensure the area is well-ventilated before beginning, since bleach is a very corrosive and toxic substance. Then protect yourself with a cleaning mask (to prevent chemical inhalation) and gloves to prevent skin irritation.
- 2). Pour full-strength bleach on mold spots until the spots and surrounding area are damp. Wait 15 minutes for the bleach to kill all of the mold spores.
- 3). Create a bleach cleanser by mixing one part chlorine bleach with four parts water, and add a few drops of non-ammonia dishwashing soap. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray the cleanser over the bleach-soaked mold stains and scrub with a sponge until all traces of mold have vanished.
- 4). Use a clean towel to dry the area to prevent new mold growth.
