How to Troubleshoot a Plasma Display
- 1). Unplug all inputs into your plasma television. Plug them all back in, one at a time, making sure they are correctly inserted. This helps you determine if one of the devices plugged into your plasma television is causing an error.
- 2). Download any available updates for your television. Depending on your TV's make and model, updates to the firmware may be available from the manufacturer's website, along with directions on how to install them. These updates may fix any problems you are encountering on your plasma television.
- 3). Select a different channel if the picture quality is low. If multiple channels are suffering from poor quality, disconnect your cable box and reconnect it. If the problem persists, contact your cable company about repairing or upgrading your cable box, as the problem may not lie with your plasma television.
- 4). Use the plasma television's "Picture" menu to adjust the quality of the picture if your picture quality is poor. Using this menu you can adjust the color, hue and brightness on your plasma TV.
- 5). Reset your plasma television. This process is different for each brand of plasma television, but a reset restores the television back to its original factory settings, which will aid in the troubleshooting process.
