MSR Stove Instructions
- 1). Remove the pump and pump control assembly from the top of the MSR fuel bottle.
- 2). Add kerosene, unleaded gasoline or white gas to the fuel bottle. Avoid over-filling the bottle past the "fill" line. Place the pump and pump control assembly back onto the fuel bottle. Close the pump control valve by turning to the right. Pressurize the bottle by pumping 10 times with the pump on top of the pump control assembly.
- 3). Extend the support legs of the MSR stove outward until they lock in place. Connect the fuel line from the stove to the pump control assembly on the fuel bottle. Apply saliva to the brass fitting before inserting it into the pump assembly.
- 4). Open the pump control valve 1 1/2 turns to the left to release a 1/2 teaspoon of fuel into the primer cup located at the base of the burner. Turn the pump control valve off.
- 5). Light the fuel with a match or sparking tool. Allow the fuel to ignite and burn for at least 2 minutes.
- 6). Open the pump control 1/2 turn to the left to allow fuel to pass through the burner. Allow the burner to ignite and watch for the flame to turn blue. Open the pump control to regulate the flame height based on personal preference and type of cooking.
