How to Get Blood Out of Denim
- 1). Blot the blood stain with paper towels.
- 2). Soak the denim in cold water as soon as possible. This will prevent the blood stain from setting.
- 3). Combine 1 tsp. of laundry detergent with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide in a container. Soak a sponge into the solution and wring out the excess.
- 4). Blot the stain with the mixture. This acts as a pretreatment to help remove the blood stain.
- 5). Wash the denim according to the care label. Use cold water to launder the denim and add a laundry additive designed to remove stains.
- 6). Hang the denim to air-dry. The heat from the dryer will cause the blood stain to set.
- 7). Dampen the stain with hydrogen peroxide if it still appears. Add two to three drops of ammonia and leave the mixture on the denim for no longer than 15 minutes. Rinse the denim with cold water and launder according to the care label.
