How to Polish Truck Rims
- 1). Mix 6 cups of any universal automobile cleaner and 4 cups of warm water in a bucket. Soak a clean, dry sponge in the mixture.
- 2). Remove excess dirt and debris with the wet sponge and mixed solution from Step 1.
- 3). Scrub the wheel with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Scrub in firm, circular motions, paying extra attention to especially soiled or hard-to-reach areas.
- 4). Rinse the wheel completely with running water immediately after scrubbing. Failure to rinse immediately will result in soap spots.
- 5). Dry the wheel thoroughly with a lint-free cleaning cloth. To prevent buildup, dry the rim as soon as you have rinsed it.
- 6). Polish the wheel by applying a dab of universal polishing compound onto a second lint-free cloth. Rub the cloth in smooth, circular motions. Add more compound as needed to achieve the desired shine.
- 7). Spray a thin coat of universal automotive spray wax on the rim after polishing to help protect the wheel from any further damage.
