Best Horde Rogue Race - A Breakdown by Purpose
Players looking to roll new Horde rogues often have their work cut out for them trying to figure out which race is best for them.
Fortunately, this article is here to clarify the advantages each race brings to the table, and hopefully help you figure out the best Horde rogue race for your intended endgame role.
We'll discuss PvP, Mutilate DPS, and Combat DPS, and which races are best for which goals.
First, we'll talk about PvP.
Undead is still the reigning king here, despite the heavy blow Will of the Forsaken took in 3.
2; even with the cooldown period, being able to break those CCs is too good to pass up.
A very close second place goes to Blood Elves; their AoE silence is a delicious bonus on top of rogue's other silences and interrupts.
Trolls are third place, with Berserking giving them excellent burst damage and Da Voodoo Shuffle helping maintain control.
Orcs come in last place but are still a decent choice; Blood Fury is good burst, and their stun reduction can be very handy.
Now let's talk Mutilate DPS.
Unexpectedly, the best Horde rogue race for this is Troll; Berserking is superior DPS to Blood Fury by itself.
That leaves second place to Orcs, and the other races share last place, as they bring nothing to the DPS table.
Combat DPS is a slightly different animal, thanks to the different weapons used.
Here, Orcs shine brightest; their improved damage with various Combat rogue weapons, added to Blood Fury, pushes them ahead of Trolls.
Trolls sit in second place now, again thanks to Berserking, and obviously once more the remaining races share last place.
So it looks like we can't really pick a single best Horde rogue race, as the lines are pretty clearly split between PvP races and PvE races; that said, Troll seems to be the best general purpose rogue race on the horde side, doing passable or better in all realms of Rogue endgame.
