Fire Up Your Ab Workouts With a New Routine

33
You may have become bored with the same old ab exercises.
You might also find that the exercise that you are doing aren't resulting in the flat or washboard stomach that you were hoping for.
All is not lost.
It might just be a time for a change.
Here is a great Ab routine designed to work your upper and lower abs and oblique muscles all at the same time.
Remember that while you are doing any exercise, but especially abdominal exercises, it is important that you do everything at a slow and steady pace and pay particular attention to proper form.
By trying to rush through the exercises you risk not only not getting the full effect of the workout, but you risk injury as well.
Best news of all, the following exercise requires only 5 to 10 minutes you your day, 3 to 4 days a week at the most.
So you shouldn't feel the need to race through them.
You will be able to do this with only the help of a chair or bench.
Lie down on the floor with your legs resting on a bench or chair.
Put you body in a position so that your upper legs are perpendicular to the ground.
Put your hand on the sides of your head, near your ears.
Start the movement by raising your back up off the floor and slowly rotate your right shoulder toward your left knee -- try to touch your knee with your elbow if possible.
Slowly recline back toward the floor and then repeat the movement with your left shoulder and right knee.
The keys to making this ab exercise achieve its full intended effect is to avoid jerking or bouncing, maintain a continuous tension in the abs during the entire time, and not resting on the floor between movements.
You should also focus on keeping your knees together during the movement and keep your hips from scooting back and forth -- keep them under your knees at all times.
Finally, your back should be somewhat rounded during the exercise.
It may be helpful to have someone holding your legs down, so a workout partner is ideal in for this exercise.
However, with a concentration on slow and steady, a workout partner is not necessary.
Start off by doing 3 sets of an amount of repetitions that you can perform with relative ease.
Rest one minute between each set and then repeat.
During this initial phase you should pay extra close attention to doing everything as spelled out above.
Again, don't try to rush through the movement.
This is not a junior high fitness competition.
Each subsequent week you can add one or two repetitions to each set.
Before you know it your abs will look better than ever.
And, it bears repeating that you should constantly remind yourself that this will only take 5 minutes (10 at the absolute most) a few days a week.
Invest a little in yourself and get amazing results.
