How to Grow Grass on a Brick
- 1). Place a 1-inch thick base of fresh, moist topsoil over the bricks. You can omit this step if you choose but it will aid in the growth and moisture retention of the grass seed.
- 2). Apply a 1/8-inch layer of the seed to the top soil or bare brick. If you added topsoil to the brick, mix the seed into the soil to create a mixture that will help to keep the seed moist.
- 3). Apply water to the seed until the paper or fabric laced in with the seed turns a dark color. In the case of EZ seed, add water until dark brown. With Patch Perfect, water until dark green.
- 4). Continually add water when the fiber turns light brown or light green. This will ensure the seed germinates properly. Do not overwater.
